Working Service Dogs In Picture

The following are pictures of the French and their dogs in WW II, Vietnam and Algeria. . One of the most striking aspects of two pictures numbered #1 and #2, is that in these photos one from WW ll where two soldiers stand with their dog looking both them and the dog are intently fixed on their subject. In another photo from Vietnam the dog is lying beside the handler in what is obviously a poised picture. The handler is looking ahead in the distance but the dog is fixed on the cameraman, alert and ready if his handler should need him. These dogs were the eyes and the ears and silent guardians contributing much more than words can express. To realize that these dogs moved in unison under heavy stress and functioned so well in a time of need is to understand what they are capable of doing and where we must go to obtain it.

Be patient while these photos download. They are definitely worth waiting for.

Once again, a very special heartfelt thanks to (H.F.), the contributor of these photos.

There was nothing written on the picture to
give us an idea of which of his dogs this might be. I believe it to be Blondi.
