WORKING SERVICE DOGS

.In the philosophy of Working Service Training to start young is of utmost importance. It is also very well noted that negative response can be developed as well as possitive response. For this reason one must know what they are doing before they begin. To lose a week in a dogs life is to lose a year. To lose a month is to lose the dog. This may and does go unnoticed until real stress has to be worked through. Take a young pup and put him on a slippery floor. You will see that if you communicate properly to him he will soon overcome this obstacle. Now walk on a slippery floor with an older dog for the first time. The dog is in flight or completely in avoidance. We must accept what we see,without excuse. We must also never put a guess on the front lines.
