First let me say that I've got nothing against female handlers.
We saw a female the other day at customs and in my estimation she was one of the best female handlers I have ever seen. She had balls to the walls.
What we saw her do, took a lot of nerve.
A bunch of guys and dogs standing around watching while she demonstrated to us the dog working, but she did an excellent job.
I have the utmost respect for her.
You know I have watched many verifications and certifications of K-9's.
We were once in Florida and watched such an event.
One participant was an extremely large female K-9 officer along with her dog who very much resembled her. She deployed her dog and then proceeded to waddle and I mean waddle, down the field to get the dog.
What would she do on the street?
Has our equal opportunity employment meant that if I am out here on the street I should get killed?
The irony was that her dog scored the highest.
We are tested for the wrong things.
It doesn't make any sense to me. 02/21/02
