WORKING SERVICE DOGS

What Should be the Proper Attitude & Character of Handler's

What if you come to the end of a hard day of training and you are ready to go home, you have consumed and obtained as much information as you can make value of on a given day and you are tired, physically and psychologically, but now you are called out to go to work with your dog?
And then you go into a place with your dog who is gentle dog? You realize and are very aware that your dog is able to bite and able to track. The people working around you have a much more aggressive attitude than you have.
Maybe they have had more time on the job than you have.
They may have more of their people around them than you may have so they have more support and so you are affected by their actions and interactions even from the visual.
You have now taken the support away from your dog that will, in turn, put all of his support in you.
If you are so bothered by the actions of other individuals, the dog is going to focus on you and may become overly protective of you. He may not have the desire to leave your side.
Your attitude must always be correct in any given situation because your attitude will reflect on your dog whether you realize it or not.

We all hear stories I am sure about people who will not use a prong collar. Oh they will use treats, put a halter on them, use a towel tug, or put a chain choke on them that is far more dangerous than a prong collar. But they are against the prong because someone told them it is a bad thing and they are not willing to test it or take any more knowledge in because they are blind.
Their dogs do not react or interact with them or you and they have what are called bad habits. They are mistakenly called bad habits but what they have is a reflection of the handler's character.
The desire not to complete the given tasks but to use an excuse to as why not.

If I were to take you to the water and you can't swim and you tell me that you can't swim and I offer to teach you to swim. You say that you are afraid of the water and that you could drown in the water. The day may come and someone needs you in the water and you can't respond.
Your attitude and character kept you from making the proper response and the proper decision.

If your attitude is that of discipline your dog will reflect that.
