WORKING SERVICE DOGS

We live in a time of little patience. Fast food, instant photos, drives throughs, and cyber mail. Fortunately those natural things will never become prey to our want and ways. It takes time, commitment and knowledge to develop a breed. Those foundation dogs must first go through a very rigid testing. It takes multiple litters to refine your foundation. Then you must breed to refine the breed. It is not a game. It is not a want. It is not done in a generation. It is not done in two or three or four. There are very few people today patient enough and dedicated enough to carry it out. Fewer with the knowledge of the breeds and individual dogs to attempt it with dignity. These factors never become obstacles to some however. Some breeds are not breeds but whims. Foolishness and insight together. Doors are kept closed for years on this subject. Misinformation in place of information. Denial to even show a single pup to the outside world are indicators of a serious program. Not this type of genetic collision on a plane of want. My sorrow for the dog grows deeper as my vision of mankind grows stronger. Those who want to ban breeds like the American Pitbull Terrier are blind to the fact it is almost extinct now. The dogs out there being bred by weakness are weak and do not represent the breed at all. Eagles will not fly with crows. In this fashion we shall and are reaping that which we have sown. Everyone is looking for the best, instead of doing their best or bringing out the best. The disposable dog. I think there is no probable destination, when there is no positive direction.
